Rebecca Lynn (Hall) Schnepf, age 82, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2023, succumbing to Alzheimer’s, a truly heartbreaking disease.

Becky was born June 26, 1940 in Waukegan, IL to Everett and Lois Hall, who preceded her in death. She had one brother, David, who also preceded her.

She met the love of her life, Chris W. Schnepf, at the Great Lakes Naval Base where he was stationed and she worked. After they were married they settled in Zionsville, IN. Chris preceded her in death in 2014. Over their 50 years together they traveled extensively, and Becky ranked a month-long RV trip across Canada and into Alaska as her favorite. She would tell, tell again and re-tell stories from that trip and always end the story with “You really should go!”

Becky retired from Dow AgriScience in Zionsville. After retirement and seeking a warmer climate, she and Chris moved to Kingston, TN.

They were life-long animal lovers who over the course of their marriage had countless dogs, cats, horses and even a mule. The last three animals, a Chocolate Lab, Maggie, a mule named Deputy DooDah and her cat, Willy gave her companionship after losing Chris.

Once Becky’s illness accelerated, she was moved to Indianapolis, IN in 2022 to be closer to family caregivers.

Becky is survived by her sister-in-law, Kathy Hall of Sun City West, AZ, sister-in-law, Phebe Roberts of Indianapolis, IN, two nieces, Jodi (Ron) Pitcock of Greenwood, IN and Jennifer (Simon) Jorgenson of Burlington, VT, four nephews, Todd (Lynda) Hall of Seattle, WA, Kyle Wilson of Los Angeles, CA, Brian (Chris) Schnepf and Chad Schnepf, both of Panama Beach, FL and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a fifth nephew, Rod Wilson of Scottsburg, IN.

Becky requested to not have a service, but to be buried with her husband, Chris at the Veteran’s Cemetery of East Tennessee, located in Knoxville, TN. She will join him in the springtime.

Final arrangements are being handled by Indiana Funeral Care.
