Rebecca Schlegel

October 16, 1945 — November 18, 2019

Rebecca Walcott Schlegel was found missing on November 18th, 2019. Her body was there but her spirit had departed to a much better place. Heaven’s gain is our loss. She was 74 and died peacefully in her sleep while at rest in her home in Indianapolis, IN.

Rebecca was born on October 16, 1945 in Waltham, Massachusetts to the late Robert and Rosamond Walcott. She was vivacious, independent, strong and spontaneous. She was a lifelong learner and rarely ever turned down a fun adventure. She loved her grandchildren and she loved ministry. Her smile was beautiful and her love for Jesus and others was apparent.

She is survived by her children Rose Kolterman (Jeremiah) and Max Schlegel; her grandchildren Alan, Zachary, Audrey, Timothy, David, Elliana and Harley; her siblings Robert Walcott (Diane) and Joseph Walcott; her niece Sara Katz (Frank); and many friends.
In heaven, she is reunited with her parents; her still-born son Andrew Phillip (b.1978); her grand-daughter Ella Joy; and many others who have gone before us into glory. Some of us even speculate that she is loving on some special pets, Tag and Toto.

We miss her and as the tears fall, we know that Jesus is wiping away all her tears and holding her tight in His arms.

Proverbs 14:13
Even in laughter the heart may ache,
and rejoicing may end in grief.
