In Loving Memory of Randall Vaughn Potts Jr.

April 5, 1955 – September 11, 2026

Today, we gather with heavy hearts to remember and celebrate the life of Randall Vaughn Potts Jr., of Greenfield, Indiana, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 11, 2026, at the age of 71.

Randall was born on April 5, 1955, in Scottsburg, Indiana. Throughout his working years, Randall was a hardworking man who made his living as an auto mechanic and commercial painter. He knew the value of hard work and was someone who could be counted on to put his hands to a task and see it through.

But while his work was an important part of his life, Randall was much more than what he did for a living. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, and most importantly, a child of God.

For those of us who loved Randall, his passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully express. We will miss his presence, his memories, and the moments we shared with him. Grief is the price we pay for having loved someone deeply, and Randall was deeply loved.

Randall was preceded in death by his father, Randall Vaughn Potts Sr.; his mother, Stella Potts; his brother, Danny Potts; his sister, Brenda Raney; and his nephew, Joe Potts.

He leaves behind his surviving siblings, Deborah Cordell, Michael Potts, and Donna Pratt, along with five nephews and nine nieces, who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Although we mourn Randall's passing, we can also find comfort in knowing that this goodbye is not forever. Because Randall has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior, we can hold onto the promise found in Scripture:

“To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8

Our hearts may be broken today, but death does not have the final word. For those who believe in Christ, there is the hope of a heavenly reunion. One day, the sorrow will be gone, the tears will be wiped away, and we will see our loved ones again.

So today, rather than saying goodbye forever, we say until we meet again.

Randall's earthly journey is finished, but his memory will continue in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May we remember the life he lived, cherish the memories he gave us, and find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of his Lord.

Rest peacefully, Randall. You are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life for Randall Vaughn Potts Jr. will be held on: September 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM Crothersville Cemetery 9971 E County Rd 600 S Crothersville, Indiana 47229.
