Ralph Stephen Hammond

Ralph Stephen Hammond Sr., 72, of Rensselaer, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, at Hawthorne Health Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Born on April 21, 1954, Ralph was the son of Leonard Hammond and Valeta Sturma, whom he will now join in Heaven. He grew up in Schneider, Indiana, a community that remained an important part of his life and family history. 

Ralph was preceded in death by his sister, Dora, and his brothers, Leonard and Larry, He is survived by his brothers, Ronnie and George; his wife, Debra Hammond; his three stepdaughters, Amy Jo Dewitt (Fred), Charlene McCay, who helped care for Ralph before he entered the health center, and Autumn Culbertson (Vinny); his son, Ralph "Ralphy" Hammond Jr .; and five grandchildren, along with his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who cared for him throughout his life. 

Ralph worked at Globe/Reiter in Lowell, Indiana. He had a talent for detailing vehicles and took pride in making them look their best.
