It is with deep sorrow that we announce Phillip John Roth "Pops," 84, of Indianapolis left us for eternal life on May 8, 2025. He passed peacefully with his wife by his side.
Phil was born on April 6, 1941, in Indianapolis to Bernard L. and Marcella F. Roth. Phil attended Little Flower Catholic School. He then graduated from Scecina Memorial High School followed by Purdue University. As a skilled electrician, Phil founded, owned, and operated Mechel Inc. for over 30 years as an electrical contractor. He took immense pride in his work and ability to provide for his family. He had a passion for motorsports including NASCAR and IndyCar and loved spending time at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Phil met the love of his life, Cindy, on a blind date on Valentine's Day in 1992. The two wed in Gatlinburg, Tennessee on July 9, 1994. Phil was a compassionate and dedicated husband and father. He loved to watch his son play football.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Roth, daughter, Brittney Roth and son, Dylan Roth (Hayden Roth), and his adored grandchildren, Conner, Braylynn, Kayden, and Vienna.
Phil was preceded in death by (Father) Bernard L. Roth, (Mother) Marcella F. Kelsch, and (Stepfather) Lou Kelsch.
His family will remember him as a man who led by example, love, strength, and selflessness. He will forever be missed.
