Philip Linnemeier

Philip Linnemeier, 72, of Carmel, Indiana, died peacefully Friday, January 16 2026 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born February 18, 1953, in Bloomington, IN, the youngest son of the late Dr. Robert W. Linnemeier and Mary Jane (Armstrong) Linnemeier. He graduated from University High School in Bloomington in 1971, received a BA from Indiana University Bloomington (1976), and a JD from Valparaiso University (1979). He practiced law in Gary, Indianapolis and Carmel. He is survived by his wife, Paula (Cartmell) Linnemeier and his two children Joseph (Catherine) Linnemeier, and Claire (Nicholas) Ward, and his granddaughter Audrey Ward; and his three brothers John (Gail), Allen (Kathy), and Richard (Christine). He was an avid reader and enjoyed bird watching, fishing, and camping with his family. He will be missed.

There will be a family and friends memorial service in Bloomington at a later date.
