Listen to Obituary

Penny Lynn Lowery, age 74, formerly of Noblesville, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2026, surrounded in peace and love by her family.

Born June 11, 1951, in Worland, Wyoming, to the late Edna (Hackney) Tuttle, Penny grew up on the family farm before moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado, then Billings, Montana, Narragansett, Rhode Island, and ultimately making her home in Noblesville, Indiana.

Penny began her medical career in Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and X-ray at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs in the late 1970’s. She later transferred to Billings Deaconess Hospital, where she continued her work for 20 years before joining the traveling tech program, where she had the opportunity to work in Sitka, Alaska and Narragansett, Rhode Island before moving to Indiana and serving within the Community Hospital Network. She was known by colleagues as a dedicated professional who cared deeply for her patients.

Penny’s greatest joy in life was her family, grandkids, and friends. She treasured every moment spent with each of them. Gifted in the kitchen, she expressed her love through cooking and baking, creating meals that brought people together and made everyone feel at home. She was also creative and talented with crafts and sewing, finding joy in making heartfelt items for those she loved.

A loyal and faithful friend, Penny was a steady presence—always ready with a listening ear and a compassionate heart. She loved to attend any of the grandkids’ events, travel, attend concerts, go to the movies, read many books by her favorite authors James Patterson and Nora Roberts, and enjoy meals at her favorite local Mexican restaurants with family and friends.

Her kindness extended deeply to animals. Growing up on the farm taught her compassion, particularly for caring for vulnerable animals such as bum lambs. As an adult, she dedicated herself to helping older shelter dogs, volunteering with the Humane Society and serving as a foster. Many of the senior dogs she fostered ultimately became part of her family. Penny had a gift for giving comfort where it was most needed, reflecting her quiet, generous spirit.

Penny will be deeply missed by her family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and all whose lives she touched throughout her lifetime. She leaves behind her children Amy (Victor) DeTienne of Fishers, IN, and Jeremy (Beth D’Addio) Lowery of Wallkill, NY; her grandchildren Olivia Lowery, Ethan DeTienne, Dylan DeTienne, Alex Lowery, Sydney Lowery, Allora D’Addio, Gavin D’Addio, Harper DeTienne, Hailey DeTienne, and Addison Lowery; her siblings Dwight Tuttle, Dwayne (Irena) Tuttle, Julia (Randy) Hopper, and Tim (Kay) Tuttle; her uncle Wayne Hackney; along with many cousins, nephews- Erik Tuttle, Tim Tuttle, Ron Tuttle, nieces- Carey Majean, Jennifer Henricks, Jodi Storms, Jana Dworshak, and Raelyn Styers, and twenty-one great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna (Hackney) Tuttle, grandparents, Blufred and Irene (Greenwalt) Hackney, Aunt Edith (Hackney) Roessing, and cousin, Brenda (Bullinger) Zastrow.
