Penny Lynne Marlin Kalk, 71, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully after a sudden illness on September 27, 2025.
Penny was born May 17, 1954 in Indianapolis, IN. Penny was fortunate to be born alongside her best friend and twin sister, Patty. Penny was preceded in death by her twin sister, Patricia Dickerson, and her parents, John and Marion Tygret Marlin. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Michael Kalk, daughters Amy Kalk of Indianapolis, Anna Kalk of Oregon, and granddaughter Holly Kalk of Fishers, IN. Penny is also survived by her brothers David (Sally) Marlin of PA and John (Denise) Marlin of OH; also several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Penny especially enjoyed hearing about and seeing pictures of the youngest generation of her family.
Penny was a 1972 graduate of Pike High School and attended Ivy Tech. Penny was employed for 33 years at RCA Music and BMG Music in Indianapolis. She was a longtime member of Haverford Moravian Church, where she taught Sunday School, and later St. Andrew's Lutheran Church.
In her retirement years Penny enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, attending her granddaughter's choir performances, watching her soap operas, attending local music performances, and bird watching.
Memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025 from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250.
Graveside interment service will take place in Hope, Indiana at the Hope Moravian Church Cemetery at a later date within the month.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Penny's memory to the American Heart Association or a church of the donor's choice.
