Paula Jean Innes

Paula Jean Innes, formerly Paula Jean Lowe, 78, passed away on Friday afternoon, September 18, 2026 in Indianapolis, Indiana following an extended battle with dementia.

Paula was born in Muncie, Indiana on October 19, 1947 to her loving parents, John Robert Lowe and La Veeda Gayle Lowe. She graduated from Arlington Highschool in Indianapolis, Indiana. She attended college at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana where she obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Social Work. She then went on to receive a Masters of Science degree in Family and Marital Therapy at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, graduating with a 4.0. GPA. She devoted her life in service to others by working as a Licensed Social Worker for the State of Indiana for many years. She then went on to work as a mental health care provider till her own health affected her ability to continue in her work. 

Paula is preceded in death by her parents, John and LaVeeda Lowe, ex-husband Gordon Innes, nephew Jason Carter Lowe, and cousins Steve and Linda Clark, Linda Diane Kronz, and Sally Hayden. 

Paula is survived by her son, Jonathan Pierce Innes, her daughter, Jennifer Gayle Innes, Jennifer’s partner, Shawn Harrison Campbell, her grandchild Niya Gayle Innes, her step- grandchildren Shyanna Kalus, Haley Campbell, Bryce Campbell, and Logan Campbell, her step-great grandchildren Rosalie Newman, Crosby Newman, Ainsley Miller, and Adalynn Campbell, her brother Robert Lowe and his wife Linda Lowe of Indianapolis, her sister-in-law Constance Fillmore of Virginia, as well as one nephew, two niece-in-laws, one great nephew, three great nieces, and many much loved cousins. 

A visitation for Paula will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Indiana Funeral Care East, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46219. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Indiana Funeral Care East.
