Patty Ann Setty-Bolen

Patty Ann Setty-Bolen, born September 3, 1945, in Terre Haute, Indiana, was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy in life was the love she shared with her family.

Patty was born to Donald A. Setty and Wilma Lou Setty. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald R. Setty, and her sister, Virginia “Sis” Christian. She is survived by her siblings, Marvin Setty, Cathy Woods, and Danae Setty.

Patty was a loving wife to Ronald E. Bolen and mother to Nickolus L. Bolen, Michael R. Fugate, and Steven A. Fugate. Her family continued to grow through her grandchildren, Trey, Jalen, and Kiera Bolen, Courtney Hicks, and Kayla Stager, and her 10 great-grandchildren, who brought immense happiness and purpose to her life.

Those who knew Patty will remember her for the warmth and love she poured into her family. She loved traveling with her best friend, creating memories and enjoying the adventures life brought her. But perhaps her favorite place was home, surrounded by the people she loved.

Patty had a special way of making her home feel like a safe place—a place where her grandchildren could always feel loved, welcomed, and cared for. She treasured every moment spent with them and made sure each one knew just how special they were. With her own hands and her whole heart, she took the time to knit each of her grandchildren a blanket, leaving them with something tangible to hold onto and a lasting reminder of her love.

Sundays were especially meaningful in Patty's home. She loved cooking Sunday dinners for the entire family, bringing everyone together around the table. The food she prepared was more than a meal—it was her way of showing love, creating traditions, and keeping her family close.

Patty's greatest legacy will not be measured in possessions or accomplishments, but in the love, comfort, memories, and traditions she left behind. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will carry her love with them, just as they carry the warmth of the blankets she made and the memories of gathering around her table.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she is no longer with them, her love lives on—in every family gathering, every Sunday dinner, every cherished memory, and in the hearts of the generations she loved so dearly.

Her home was a safe place. Her table was always open. Her heart was always full. And her love will always be home.
