Patricia Ann Martin (Trish), age 90, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, at IU Methodist Hospital.

She was born on July 1, 1935, in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, to the late Joseph Elmer Chalk and Lena (McLaughlin) Chalk. After completing her education, Patricia worked in various roles throughout her life, including a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company, a processor for the R. L. Polk Co. in Detroit using IBM cards, and later as an administrator for The Discover Card.

Patricia had a passion for music, gardening, and home decorating. She and her husband used to love dancing together at the Polish Century Club in Detroit. She enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends, and had a deep affection for cats—having at least one companion feline throughout much of her life. She was also an avid traveler, with fond memories of trips to Australia and Ireland among her favorites.

She is survived by her son, Michael McCoy; her daughter, Dawn Ruh-Teteak; and her grandsons, Zachary Ruh, Cole Ruh, and Alex Ruh, as well as two great-grandsons, Michael and Matthew Ruh.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence J. McCoy; her parents, Joseph and Lena Chalk; and her siblings: Joseph Chalk, Clara Chalk, Theodore Chalk, Francis Chalk, Mary Rose Tackwell, Helen Chalk Boyer, and Harry Chalk.

Indiana Funeral Care is honored to assist the family with Patricia’s arrangements.

"An Irish Blessing"
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you;
May you see your children’s children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.
