Patricia Sharon Aman

Patricia Sharon Aman, a devoted educator and beloved matriarch, passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on January 27, 1941, in Olney, Illinois, Patricia led a life characterized by her unwavering kindness, selflessness, and deep love for her family.

Patricia earned her bachelor's and master’s degree from Indiana State University, demonstrating her commitment to education. Her passion for teaching culminated in a distinguished career as a Teacher of Business Education at Indianapolis Public Schools, where she dedicated herself to shaping the minds of her students from 1962 until her retirement in 2007. 

In addition to her professional life, Patricia cherished her personal relationships. She married her husband, Dale Aman, on July 16, 1960, and together they celebrated 65 years of partnership, proving that love can endure through time. Patricia was a loving mother to her daughter, Jill, and son, Todd (Leilana) Aman. Her pride and joy were amplified through her role as a grandmother to Courtney, Katelyn, Zak (Christina), and Chaz and as a great-grandmother to Adrianna and Ashton, all of whom were fortunate to experience her nurturing spirit.

Patricia's warmth extended beyond her family. She had a passion for hobbies that included Bible study, traveling, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events and Pacer’s games. Her caring nature left a significant imprint on all who knew her. 

Patricia is preceded in death by her mother, Lucille (Huffine) Briscoe; father, W.C. Minyard; and sister, Debbie Briscoe. While those she has left behind mourn her absence, they also honor the rich legacy of love and kindness she imparted upon them. 

Visitation will be held on January 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Creek Church located at 6430 S Franklin Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46259. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, concluding at 1:00 PM on the same day.
