Norman Edwin Shelley, 89, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026.
Norm was known for his easygoing, laid-back nature and his love of life’s simple pleasures. He had a passion for motorcycle racing and especially enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, along with riding four-wheelers and spending weekends at camp in Spencer, Indiana. He loved traveling across the country in an RV with his family and was an avid fan of NASCAR, IndyCar, and motocross rarely missing a race on TV.
Norm also enjoyed playing cards, especially poker, and spending time at the casino. Above all, Norm cherished his family. His grandchildren brought him immense joy and gave him a sense of a second childhood filled with laughter and love.
Norm owned and operated Agency Bindery. He was in the bindery business for 49 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet “Sue” Shelley; his children, Angie and Chris Hubner, Julie and Michael Herbertz, and Rod Shelley; his grandchildren, Tyler, Sierra, Rene’, Spencer, Nevaeh, and Cort; his great-grandchild, Aviana; and his brothers, Marvin (Mary) Shelley and Ronnie Shelley.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Shelley, his sister-in-law, Peggy Shelley, and his parents, Edwin "Van" Shelley and Gladys Starks Shelley.
Norm will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit will live on in the many memories he created with those closest to him.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Indiana Funeral Care West, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46224. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time. Norman will be laid to rest at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026 at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
