Nina Winthrop

Nina Winthrop was born on February 27, 1948, as Nina Petrovna and grew up in Chicago, Illinois where she attended Tuley High School before her father was transferred to Denver, Colorado with Western Electric. Nina graduated from East High School in Denver before attending college where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Russian Language, Literature, and Culture at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Nina also met and married her husband there. Upon graduation she and her husband moved to Garden Grove, California where they lived while her husband served in the U.S. Navy on a couple of Destroyer vessels as Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer. Nina managed all the family affairs for the rest of their lives together and was a loving wife and mother for more than fifty-six years of marriage. Nina is survived by her daughter Alexandra, her brother Nikoli, her cousin Tania, Nina's Husband Chuck and his sister Susan. Nina is also missed by her very dear friends Elizabeth Pearce, Catherine Roby and her very special friends in the Crazy Ladies Embroidery Group.
