Nancy Lee Leiter

Nancy Lee Leiter (Butts) of Coatesville, IN died March 21, 2023 in hospice. Born January 18, 1936 to Paul and Treva Butts, Nancy graduated from Jefferson HS in 1954 and married Everett Devon Leiter in October of that year. Everett and Nancy were blessed with four children; Dawn (Tim) Sculley, Mark Leiter, Denise (Kevin) Hill, and Matthew (Lisa) Leiter, eight adoring grandchildren; Benjamin, Setsuka, Rachel (Evangelos), Zachary (Megan), Alexander (Cosette), Gregory, Makenna, Blake, and seven great-grandchildren.

Nancy resided with her family in Monrovia, IN for 38 years where she and Everett were faithful members of the United Methodist Church of Monrovia and she found many outlets for her zest for life and her care for others as a Indiana Deaf School volunteer, Brownie Scout leader, Special Education class aid, square dancer, a clown minister for children and seniors (a perfect match for her impish personality), card shark, and devoted mother and grandmother.

Nancy is survived by her sister Frances Allspaw and was predeceased by Everett, her sisters Joyce Wyman and Carley Johnson. Her life will be celebrated in a Memorial Service at the Christian Church of Monrovia on June 10 at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions are recommended to be made to the Indiana School for the Deaf.
