Nancy I. Dooley

Nancy I. (Childress) Dooley of Greenfield IN passed away Tuesday June 24, 2025. She was born April 21st, 1936 in Graham, Kentucky to Ebbon and Girtie (Tyson) Childress.

She is survived by her children, Robert Middleton of Greenfield, IN: Teresa Ervin (Brian) of Indianapolis, IN; Doug Middleton (Michelle) of Shelbyville, IN; and Sharon O’Maley (Randy) of Indianapolis, IN; her grandchildren, Jessica Middleton, Erika Middleton, Tyler Middleton, and Brianna Nichter (Jason); her great grandchildren, Skylar, Brantley, Miles, Charlotte, and Adalee; her sister, Doris Buchanan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Ebbon and Girtie Childress; her sons, Jimmy Middleton and David Middleton; her grandson, Jeremy Woosley; her brothers, James Childress and Gary Childress; and her sister, Mary Ruby Smith.

She retired from Detroit Steel Products in Morristown IN and attended Faithway Baptist Church in Greenfield, IN.

She loved her family and friends and enjoyed getting together. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and never missed a game if they were playing and she was a UK men’s basketball fan.

She will be at Asbury Cemetery with a private celebration.
