Mildred Hope Ball

Mildred "Mimi" Ball, 78, passed away on July 20, 2026, in Plainfield, Indiana. She was born on December 17, 1947, in Wakefield, Rhode Island.

Mimi lived life in her own way and on her own terms. A true free spirit, she enjoyed playing bingo and had a special fondness for animals, especially the neighborhood raccoons she couldn't resist feeding despite being told otherwise. Those who knew her understood that she had an independent spirit and wasn't one to follow the crowd.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and Albert Hartley; her companion, Robert Orr; her brothers, Paul Hartley, Richard Hartley, and Albert Hartley Jr.; her sister, Donna Hartley; and her grandson, Christopher Gibson.

She is survived by her daughters, Leah Cannon and Lisa Gibson; her son, Daniel Ball; her sisters, Judy Prentice, Pat Sampson, Norma Minson, and Janie Minson; her brother, Walter Hartley; along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and those whose lives she touched over the years.

Like every life, Mimi's journey was marked by both joys and challenges. She will be remembered for her independent nature, her appreciation for life's simple pleasures, and the unique path she walked.

The family is grateful for all who have shared memories, kindness, and support during this time as they honor Mimi's life.
