Michelle Gruwell, 53, of Hartford City, IN passed away April 17, 2024. She was born in Muncie, IN on June 16, 1970 to Carl Simmons and Carol Clamme.
Michelle graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1988. She attended Ball State University after high school and then went to Ross Medical Education Center where she earned a degree in Medical Assisting in 2020. Michelle was a proud mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with family. Michelle enjoyed crocheting.
Michelle was preceded in death by her uncle, John Sears; step father, Gary Clamme; and grandparents, Carlos and Thelma Sears.
She is survived by her parents, Carl (Becky) Simmons and Carol Clamme; sons, Mikel "Storm" (Courtney) Gruwell, Hunter (Laney) Gruwell, Jerrick (Chris) Umminger; grandchildren, Stormy, Xander, Emersyn Gruwell, Remington Umminger; sisters, Mellisa Hartley, Amy (Bill) Gibson, and Abby (John Mark) Hackney and several nieces and nephews.
