Michele Marie Coffin was born on November 16, 1967, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late, Mary and Kenneth Rubush. On September 22, 2025, she entered eternal rest after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Michele was a graduate of Scecina Memorial High School. She joined the United States Air Force and was sent to Rhein Main Air Force Base in Germany where she met her husband of 36 years, Robert Coffin. After being married, they both continued to serve in the military and were assigned together to K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan, where their son Ryan was born. After completing their enlistments, they relocated to Abilene, Texas where Michele attended Cisco Junior College. She then settled into a career as a medical assistant. During her 28 years in Abilene, she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Abilene Fire Department and Bunco for Breast Cancer. In 2020, Michele returned with her husband to her hometown of Indianapolis where she spent her time reconnecting with family and friends.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, dogs, trips to Disney World, attending estate sales, and was an avid hockey fan. Those who knew her, will remember her for her unwavering faith in God and her genuine, warm devotion to those she loved.

Michele was preceded in death by her grandparents, and sister, Tracy Rubush.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert Coffin; son, Ryan Coffin (Lauren); sister, Cinimen Hankins (Eddie); aunt, Linda Hedrick; sister-in law, Joelle Flaherty (Chuck); mother-in-law, Linda Coffin; and her biological family, Pat Smith, Wendi Couch, and Traci Davis who she was able to meet when she returned to Indianapolis in 2020. Michele will also be missed by a large extended family of cousins and beloved nieces and nephews.

Michele was proud to be a veteran and chose to have her ashes interred at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene where her family will gather to celebrate her life.
