Michael Jerome Solan, 74, of Tamarac, Florida, formerly of Yonkers, New York, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026. Born on April 23, 1951, Michael was the beloved son of John and Mary Solan (both deceased) and the devoted brother of Eddie Solan and his wife, Rory Solan.
Michael was a proud and loving father to his four children: Shaun Solan and his wife Cassandra Solan, Chris Solan, Lisa Solan, and Eric Solan. He was an adoring grandfather to Elle Solan, Dylan Solan, Lincoln Solan, Kyler May, Shelby Solan, Meadow Solan, Charlotte Solan, Sawyer Solan, and Shawn Mayes Jr.—each bringing him immense joy and pride.
He is also remembered by his former wife, Joanne Solan, who remained an important part of his life and family.
A man with a truly larger-than-life presence, Michael was known for his unforgettable storytelling and his deep, booming voice that carried through any crowd. He loved his family, friends, God. He cherished his time at the Moose Lodge, collecting antiques, fishing, cooking for the people he cared about, and spending peaceful days at his cabin in northern Michigan.
One of the great points of pride in Michael’s life was the time he spent working alongside the bands W.A.S.P. and KISS, where he formed unforgettable memories and lasting friendships. He loved to share those stories, and they became part of the legend that surrounded him.
Though he made his home in Florida, Michael’s heart remained with the people he loved most. He will be remembered for his strength, humor, generous spirit, and the countless memories he created with everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Michael will be laid to rest at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville, Indiana, on February 9, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, a charity close to Michael’s heart.
