Michael James McDonald of Indianapolis, IN passed peacefully from this life on September 30, 2026.

Mike married his High School sweetheart, Cynthia McDonald, in 1969. They were married for 57 years. Mike and Cindy had 2 sons and 4 grandchildren, 2 boys and a girl.

Mike was an underwriter for commercial lines insurance for 50 years. He retired from Hastings Mutual Insurance Company in 2016.

Mike spent much free time coaching children in soccer and managed a children's soccer league. He loved playing golf and poker with friends and watching sports, especially college football. He and Cindy enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, going to Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls and many Florida trips. They also enjoyed the Pacific coast of Mexico. Mike was a member of Allisonville Christian Church since 1965 and was married there. He was active in church, serving as deacon and elder and helped manage the church's insurance.

Mike is survived by his wife Cindy, sons Nicholas Evan McDonald (Andrea), Timothy James McDonald (T.J.) sister Cathy Hobbs, ,brother in law Brian Hobbs, brother in law David Spaulding, grandchildren Colin, Evan, Belle and Beau McDonald, 2 nieces, 4 nephews.

He will be very much missed by many friends, some from the 1950s and 60s until today.
