Michael William Kiemeyer

Michael W. Kiemeyer, 82, passed away on June 26, 2023, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Michael was born on June 9, 1941, in Indianapolis to Arthur and Betty Kiemeyer.

Mike graduated from Scecina High School in 1959. He was a Navy veteran serving on the USS Neptune. Because he had perfect attendance for his entire twelve years of school, UPS hired him and he worked there for thirty plus years, from which he retired in 1994. After retirement, Michael and his beloved wife, Margaret loved spending the winter months at their home in Silver Springs, Florida. He always called back home to tell everyone about the weather. They made so many long-lasting friendships there. They were also well known for their fish fry parties.

Mike was an avid bowler, golfer, and fisherman. He hit the trifecta of those activities by bowling a 300, hitting not one, but two holes in one, which was one more than his brother and sister, and by catching a twelve-pound bass. He was a creative craftsman, always building and creating things. Stained glass was his passion, making pieces of art for family, friends, and strangers alike for them to enjoy for many years to come. Most of all, Mike was a family man.

Mike was a son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He loved sitting around the table playing cards or dominoes taking everyone’s quarters. He also enjoyed traveling with friends and family and going to his grandkid’s ballgames. His favorite pastime was fishing with his wife, his son, or his buddy. He enjoyed it all.

Mike is survived by his wife of forty years, Margaret; son, Michael S. (Kim) Kiemeyer; daughters, Brenda (Carl) Duh, Michelle Jackson; step-sons, Bob (Marla) Clark, Kevin (Teresa) Clark, Danny (Cheryl) Clark, Shawn (Shellie) Clark; brothers, Leo (Debbie) Kiemeyer, Tom (Judy) Kiemeyer; Sisters, Sharon (Bill) Johnson, Mary (Larry) Goshart; seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews to whom he was an uncle and great uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Art Kiemeyer.

Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew him!
