Michael Jean Hurt was a truly one-of-a-kind person whose upbeat spirit, kindness, and goofy sense of humor touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. A natural people person, Michael had a way of making friends everywhere he went. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcome, loved, and at home.

Michael loved to dance, even if it wasn’t exactly his greatest talent. He was joyful, genuine, and always ready to have a good time.

His kindness knew no limits. Michael was the kind of person who would share whatever he had, always willing to help someone in need. He gave generously, loved deeply, and brought laughter and light into the lives of those around him. Above all, he was a devoted father, grandfather, husband, son, brother, and friend.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, James Hurt; his beloved wife, Sandra Hurt; and his cherished grandchild, Eisley.

He leaves behind his mother, Janet Hurt; his children, Stephanie (Cory) Carter and Ryan (Brooke) Hurt; and his stepchildren, Alana (Tyler) Carr, Desirae (Erik) Goodwin and Owen Nelson.

His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Landon, Cory Jr., Kaylea, Joey, Brea, Jordan, Joslyn, Johni, Khari, Jamie, and Chloe; and his step-grandchildren, Skylynn, Piper, Elliot, Jaime, Jace and Phoenix, who will carry with them the love, laughter, and memories he gave so freely.

He is also survived by his sisters, Becky (Jason) Bishop and Jenny (Paul) Williams, as well as his nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Lincoln, and Allan.

Michael also leaves behind his best friend and partner in crime, his dog Mickey.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable hole in the hearts of his family and friends, his laughter, kindness, goofy spirit, and unconditional love will live on in the many lives he touched. His memory will forever be a reason to smile, laugh, love a little harder, and maybe dance anyway.
