Melody Star Hines

Melody Star Hines 40 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on January 7, 1986, to Stephen E. Hester and Pandora D. Hines.

Melody graduated from Lawrence Central high school. She then went to IU Indianapolis Indiana for law degree. Melody completed her bachelor’s degree in law at IU Bloomington Indiana. She was also an entrepreneur of Star Elite Cleaning Solutions LLC.

Melody loved to sing with her children. “You are my sunshine my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray.” Melody enjoyed baking and her sister Kia said that Melody made the best sweet potato pies. She was also a jokester and prankster. She was an educated intelligent lady. She shared a lot of similarities with her grandmother. Melody and Rashaad, her brother shared a special bond.

Melody is proceeded in death by her parents; Stephen E. Hester, Pandora D. Hines, grandparents; Eugene Hines I, Burnice Hines and Anna Burrell.

Melody is survived by her siblings; Tracy Bluiett, Tylette Lloyd, Kia Hines, Megan Hines, Rashaad Hines, children; Ava Sloan, Mina Sloan, Emelina Richardson, Elijah Richardson, Mekhi, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
