Mary L. Vie, 74, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away July 19, 2023, at her home. She was born on January 2, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Jesse Clayton and Christina Ward. She married Nicholas Vie on September 13, 1985, and they shared 30 years of marriage until his death in 2015.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her three sisters, Christine Means, Joyce Coffey, and Wanda Urban; eight nieces and nephews; a number of great nieces and nephews; her six daughters, Theresa Schneider (Jeff), Rhonda Hornbuckle Cindy Redmon (Mark), Laura Leissner (Mike), Patty White (Chip), and Angel (Tony); her fourteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Vie; her parents, Jesse and Christina Ward; her sister, Norma Teager; and her brother John Cook Jr.

A funeral service will be held on July 26, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN, followed by a burial at the Lincoln Memory Gardens Cemetery in Whitestown, IN. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care.

Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a wonderful woman who touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. She left behind a legacy of love and laughter that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Rest in peace, Mary. We love you.
