It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary McGuire, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on August 2, 2026. Born on August 28, 1957, in Indianapolis, Mary was the cherished daughter of Urban and Florence McGuire, who predeceased her along with her brothers Pat and Bob McGuire.
Mary was a spirited soul whose vibrant life was tragically cut short due to a motorcycle accident. After a courageous week in the ICU, she was called home to God. Even in her final moments, her spirit remained unbroken, a testament to her indomitable will and boundless heart.
A graduate of Mooresville High School in 1976, Mary was a true entrepreneur at heart. Her career was as diverse as her interests, having worked in various fields where she not only started and managed companies but excelled as a hands-on innovator who always got the job done. Her professional life was marked by a relentless drive that inspired all who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Mary is survived by her devoted children, David and Esther Bowman, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Kayla, Jasmine, Jacey, David, Logan, Aryanna, Daniel, and her four great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and cherished deeply. She is also survived by her loving brothers, William and Mark McGuire.
In her personal life, Mary was known for her wild spirit and immense heart. She was a woman who would move mountains for her friends and family, while fiercely defending herself against any adversaries. Genuine and spirited, she lived life on her own terms, fearlessly blazing her own path, often on the back of her beloved motorcycle. Her love for visiting with her "babies" and her adventurous spirit were defining aspects of her remarkable character.
Mary shared a profound bond with her partner John, with whom she walked through life. They lived and loved together, and now they rest together, eternally united.
A service to honor Mary's life will be held on August 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM until 1:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care West. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the extraordinary life of a woman who touched so many with her kindness and zest for life.
Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Holy Cross/St. Joseph Cemetery in Indianapolis.
Mary's legacy is one of love, resilience, and a vibrant spirit that will forever inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, dear Mary.
