Mary Louise Manuel

Mary Louise (Hatcher) Manuel was a beloved mother and friend to anyone she met. She passed away peacefully in her home at the blessed age of 95, With family by her side. Mary L Manuel was born on March 16, 1931, in Indianapolis, She was the daughter of Minnie Hatcher, Father unknown. Mary had three siblings, Charles, John, and George Hatcher who affectionately along with her mother called her Louise.

Mary attended, IPS #26, and then attended Crispus Attucks High School where she received her high school diploma 1953. In the late 1940’s, Mary met the love of her life, Milton D. Manuel, and they went on to be married. From that marriage three children were born, Ethan W. Elton D. and Ellery J. Manuel.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie, brothers Charles, John and George, son Elton, granddaughters Tynisa S. and Erika B. Manuel. Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories, sons, Ethan W. Manuel (Patricia), Ellery J. Manuel, Daughter-in-law Diana(Elton’s wife) and 12 grands, 14 great grands and 3 great-great grands.

Services in celebration of Mary's life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Allen Chapel AME Church, 637 E 11th St, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Family and friends are welcome to gather for a public visitation from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Services for Mary to follow visitation at 12:00 pm at the church.
