Mary Ellen Howard

Mary Ellen Howard (nee Leffel), 72, of Coatesville, Indiana, died May 17, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Leffel (Mc Crone) and brother, Gerald Leffel. Mary is survived by her faithful husband of 53 years, Robert; two children, Colleen (Ted) Stann and Michael (Rachel) Howard. Her sister-in-law, Kathleen Howard (Tom Glinka), brothers, Francis "Woodie" (Donna) Leffel, Timothy Leffel, Dennis (Maire) Leffel, Edward (Tamre) Leffel. Her sisters: Eileen Lydon (Dennis Buck) and Regina (Robert) Werblak. First cousin, Marge Pizzino (Nickols). Loving Nana of Abby, Ally, Libby, Teddy, Brody, Ben, Evie and Jude Stann. Dear aunt of 17 nieces and nephews and many Mc Crone cousins. Mary was a devout member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Greencastle, Indiana. She was a staunch advocate for the unborn. She was recognized in 2021 by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis in recognition for her contributions to upholding the dignity and sanctity of human life. Her strong faith and unwavering love for her husband, family and community will be deeply missed. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Parish-Cottleville, Missouri on June 11, 2025 at 10am. Visitation will be held an hour prior to mass.
