In retirement, Mary devoted herself to her beloved granddaughter, Skylar, attending countless choir rehearsals, soccer matches, and dance practices. She cherished summers at her childhood home near Lake Michigan, where she enjoyed swimming, walking, and visiting lighthouses. An avid nature-lover, Mary explored Indiana and Michigan state parks, combining her love for the outdoors with her dedication to environmental causes.
Mary was a Stephen Minister and a devout member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. She expressed her love of storytelling as an active member of Toastmasters and embraced her creative side as a competitive ballroom dancer with Arthur Murray. A world traveler, she enjoyed adventures across Europe and beyond.
Mary will be remembered as a peaceful, compassionate, and caring soul. A devoted friend and family member, she was known for her deep connection to nature, commitment to environmental advocacy, and her meditative spirit. She was lovingly called ‘the walker at Traditions, her final home.’
