Mary Susan Dial

Susie Dial, 81, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025. She resided at Majestic Care of Carmel in Carmel, Indiana.

Mary was born on May 2, 1944, and was a lifelong resident of Indiana. She was a devoted mother to Erin Dial and Lesley (Dial) Wells, and a loving grandmother to David, Charlotte, and Griffin. She is survived by her sister, Margaret (McCann) Schmidt, and was preceded in death by her siblings Tony McCann and Ann (McCann) Kane.

Mary was a joyful spirit who cherished her friendships and community. She especially loved playing Euchre with friends at her retirement community and spending time with her lifelong club sisters from St. Philip Neri and Scecina. Her warmth, wit, and loyalty made her a treasured friend to many.

A lifelong animal lover, Mary always had a place in her heart—and her home—for cats and dogs. Her deep compassion for animals will be one of her enduring legacies.

A memorial Mass will be held in her honor on Wednesday, June 18th at 11:30 a.m. at the Chapel of St. Luke's Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to your local humane society or animal shelter in Susie’s memory.
