Mary Jacqueline (Miller) Cross, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on June 10, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 11, 1961, in Franklin, Indiana, Mary lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
A graduate of South Spencer High School’s class of 1979, Mary furthered her education by attending courses at Brescia University. She devoted over four decades of her career to the bakery industry, spending 38 years as a bakery manager at Marsh before transferring to Kroger, where she continued to manage their bakery for five years until her retirement. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her warm and caring nature, reflected in every interaction she had.
Mary was known for her laid-back spirit and wonderful sense of humor. She was loving, giving, selfless, and always willing to go out of her way to help others. She had a unique passion for collecting Longaberger baskets and coins, and she loved to travel with her husband, Bryan "Dave". Their adventures took them across numerous states and international destinations, with a special fondness for cruises, visits to small-town soda and candy shops, and the excitement of casinos. These shared experiences were among the many joys that enriched her life.
Mary’s proudest accomplishment was her marriage to the love of her life, Bryan "Dave" Cross, on December 27, 1986. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and companionship. She is survived by her beloved husband Bryan "Dave" Cross, her brother John Miller, and her sisters Sandy (Don) Kerr and Kathy (Danny) Schreiber. Mary also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and many loved ones who cherished her deeply. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Miller, and her mother, Dorothy (Johns) Miller.
