Mary Ethel Clayton

Mary Ethel (Adkins) Clayton, 85, of Indianapolis passed away January 28, 2024. She was born on September 20, 1938 in Indianapolis, IN to Roy and Maude (Barker) Adkins. 

Mary was a graduate from Brownsburg High School. The love of her life was her husband, Bob Clayton. One of Mary's favorite places was Sanibel Island, where she enjoyed walking the beach and collecting shells. Mary liked to garden and loved her animals, especially her dog, Biscuit. More than anything she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought so much joy to her life. 

Mary is survived by her daughter, Joyce Mulvey; son, Douglas Thomas; sister, Marie Urick; step children, Larry, Don, and Kevin Clayton and Sandra Clayton Julian; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; niece, Dela; and nephew, Roy. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm with a funeral service at 2:00 pm at Salem United Methodist Church, 6701 S. 775 E. Zionsville. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery, located on the grounds of the church.
