Mary Theresa Buckner

Mary Therese (Smith) Buckner was reunited with her beloved husband of 62 years, Bob, and entered eternal life with her Creator on April 13th, 2023. She was the matriarch of our Buckner family which includes her six children: Jeff (Cindy), Chris (Lisa), Kathleen Franco (Rich), Barb Suárez (Roberto), Lauren Nordmann (Nick) and Suzanne Haben (Keith), 14 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. She was also Mare-Mare to so many others that she loved. Her trust and faith in God and her commitment to the value of life were unwavering. She gave our family the best from her heart. All who loved her can trust that she’s still praying on our behalf and will continue to bless us through her direct connection to God.
The Little Sisters of the Poor and staff at St. Augustine’s, took such loving care of our parents - we are forever grateful. Mary Therese’s funeral and rite of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 17th at 10:30am at the St. Augustine’s Chapel, 2345 W. 86th Street Indianapolis, IN. Any memorial contributions can be directed to St. Augustine’s Home for the Aged.
