Marsha Elaine Pollock, 82, of Carmel, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Carmel Health and Living Community.

Marsha was born on September 10, 1943, in Hamilton County, Indiana, the daughter of Hershel and Marian (Moss) McCullough.

After high school, Marsha attended Depauw’s Methodist Hospital nursing program but left to care for an ill family member. In 1963, Marsha married Robert Heare and together raised three children. She was a devoted stay-at-home mother for many years, dedicating herself to her family and creating a loving home.

While raising her family, Marsha returned to complete her nursing degree through Purdue University. She went on to become a devoted registered nurse, caring for her patients with the same compassion, kindness, and dedication she showed her own family.

In 1991, Marsha married John Urick Jr. and made their home at the lake in Northern Indiana before returning to Hamilton County. She continued to nurture her passion for nursing while building a fulfilling professional career. Following John’s passing, Marsha married Robert Pollock, Sr., several years later.

Outside of her career, Marsha found joy in the simple things in life. She loved reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She had a special love for animals and cared for many throughout her lifetime.

Above all, Marsha will be remembered for her gentle spirit, loving heart, compassion for others, and quiet strength. She had a gift for making people feel cared for and brought comfort and warmth to those fortunate enough to know her. She was, in every sense, a champion of people.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Marian McCullough; her husbands, John Urick and Robert Pollock; her brother, Donald McCullough; her granddaughter, Grace Heare; and her nephew, Kenny McCullough.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Susan Heare (Pam), Gerry (Lisa) Heare, and Lori (Andrew) Brooks; multiple stepchildren; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; the father of her children; her other brother; and her many nieces and nephews, all of whom were deeply loved by Marsha.

Marsha’s family will forever carry the memories of her love, her kindness, and the many ways she cared for the people and animals in her life. Her legacy will live on through the family she loved so deeply and the lives she touched throughout her many years.

Visitation will be held on October 24, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care North, 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250. A celebration of life service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved her.
