Marlene R. Miller passed away at The Belmont Health and Rehab in Columbus, Indiana on January 31, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on January 29, 1942, in New Albany, Indiana, Marlene was a dedicated individual with a passion for her work and a love for the outdoors.
Marlene’s professional journey spanned over two decades, during which she worked in accounting and payroll at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana. Her commitment and dedication to her career were evident, making a lasting impression on her colleagues and the many lives she touched throughout her time there before her retirement.
In 1968, Marlene married the love of her life, Vince Miller, with whom she shared a deep bond until his passing in 2018. Their union was characterized by love, support, and a partnership that weathered the many ups and downs of life together.
Marlene had an adventurous spirit; she cherished time spent outdoors, particularly enjoying fishing. Her cooking skills were also exceptional, as she frequently delighted her family and friends with her culinary creations.
She is survived by her two beloved sons, Jeff Miller (Dianne) and Jason Miller, who carry forward her legacy. Marlene is also remembered by her siblings, Judy Knoob, Michael Peers, Joellen Peers, and Kathy Lewis. Her grandchildren, Chris Miller and Caleigh Miller, will surely miss the warmth and love she brought into their lives.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Vince Miller, her parents, Melvin and Rachel (Bedenbaugh) Peers, and her sister, Pat Monroe.
Marlene R. Miller leaves behind cherished memories and the profound impact of her kindness and strength, reminding all who knew her of the importance of family, love, and the joys of life. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all.
Pastor Tom Knight will officiate a Celebration of Life later this spring, dates to be determined.
