Atlanta

Mark Alan Fahrnkopf, 65, of Atlanta, IN passed away peacefully at his home on July 28, 2024. He was born on May 11, 1959 in Rugby, North Dakota to Clarence Morris and Ardith Bernice Fahrnkopf.

A true patriot, Mark served in the U.S. Navy for four years where he had the opportunity to explore the world. Overseas ignited a passion for diverse cuisine and beers. After his honorable discharge Mark dedicated over 30 years of his career as a printing press operator. A rite he performed with diligence and pride. Mark was a devoted father to his boys, Eric and Ryan. Beyond work, he was a caregiver for his ailing mother, father, and girlfriend for over 15 years, showing his devotion to the ones he loved. His move to Indiana was driven by the desire for a peaceful, lazy retirement, fishing as many bodies of water as possible. Any lake, any pond, any ocean and the ocean is where he wants to rest. Mark loved gardening, cooking and growing his veggies and canning them. Teaching and passing his canning onto his grandson, Eric Jr. who will make Mark proud. Mark's home was the hub for sports events and family holidays and gatherings. He loved his country music, poker games and chillin' with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ardith.

Mark is survived by his sons, Eric and Ryan Fahrnkopf; grandsons, Eric Jr., Nicholas and Parker; sister, Joyce; brother, Todd; and nephews, Todd Jr., Phillip, Jeremy, Steven and Jonathan.

Mark's boys will lay their dad to rest at sea at a later date. Mark's legacy will be remembered by all who knew him.
