Marjorie M. Gaier, 101, died January 1, 2020 at Timbercrest Senior Living, North Manchester, IN. She was born January 28, 1918 in Cambridge, MA the eldest daughter of Jasper & Hazel (Butler) Carle. Her sister was Barbara (Carle) Tucker from Richmond, IN.

Marge was a homemaker marrying Sergt. William G Gaier in 1943 when he was in the Army Air Corps. After WWII they settled in Springfield, OH where Bill worked for Crowell-Collier. There they had three boys. After Crowell-Collier closed, they moved to Indianapolis, IN in 1957 where Bill worked as a pressman for the Indianapolis Star. There they added a girl to the family. Bill retired in 1982. She and Bill had been married for 54 years when Bill passed in 1998.

Marge was a long-time member of Northview Church of the Brethren in Indianapolis before moving to Timbercrest in 2012.
Survivors include sons Robert (Carma) Gaier of Auburn, IN, John (Sandy) Gaier of Kendallville, IN, James (Kay) Gaier of North Manchester, IN, daughter Barbara (Barry) Lanum of Indianapolis, IN, 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, four nephews and one niece.

Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, IN with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Timbercrest Charitable Assistance.

Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, OH.
