Marjorie Gilmour took her final bow on May 27, 2026 leaving behind a beautiful legacy of laughter, legendary baked goods, and a family tree large enough to populate a small island. Known for her quick mind and bright sense of humor, Marjorie kept everyone fiercely on their toes and filled the lives of those around her with immense joy.
Marjorie was a woman of many talents and zero patience for a boring room. If she wasn't filling the house with the aroma of freshly baked treats or a gourmet meal, she was filling it with music. A self-styled maestro, she could command a piano, belt out a tune, and play the harmonica like a true renegade—all while reciting poetry from memory. When she finally took a quiet moment, it was usually spent with her nose buried deep in a good book or surrounded by the chaotic love of her favorite people.
Waiting to greet her with open arms are those who preceded her in death: her beloved husband, Robert Gilmour; her daughter, Linda Jones; her parents, William Loral Shotts and Mary Ellen Shotts (Sheets); her brother, Jim Shotts (whose wife Linda survives); and her sister, MaryKay Eddleman (with husband Bill).
Marjorie’s sharp wit, comedic timing, and recipe secrets will be carried on by her three children: SueEllen Howe, Jennifer Huck (Roland), and Gary Gilmour.
She also leaves behind a formidable army of 12 grandchildren who inherited her quick mind: Jason Howe, Emily Blaile (Raymond), Elijah Howe (Stephanie), Garrett Gilmour (Annette), Damon Gilmour (Dawn), Addie Rogers (Charles), Larissa Shumar, Annalisa Aliff (Charlie), Kayla Davenport (Alex), Claira Knapp (Colton), Anthony Huck, and Gabriella Huck.
Her legacy stretches even further into a troupe of 18 great-grandchildren: Isaac (Bethany), Hannah, Eliza, Audrey, Declan, Cooper, Sarah, Nataly, Daniel, Dalilah, Daisy, Atlas, Myles, Ember, Asher, Seth, Landon, and Elliana.
Marjorie lived life with a twinkle in her eye and a joke on her lips. She will be profoundly missed, forever quoted, and never duplicated.
