Marjorie Mae Larson Davis passed away on October 23, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, laughter, love, and devotion to Jesus and her family. She was born on September 25, 1930, in rural Craig, Nebraska, and lived a long life marked by devotion to family, service to others, and a deep love of learning.
Education remained an important part of Marjorie’s life. She graduated from Uehling High School in 1947, and many years later continued her studies by receiving her bachelor's degree at Midland University in 1990 at the age of 60. That commitment to growth and curiosity was reflected in her professional life as well. She served as a librarian in South Sioux City, Nebraska, from 1967 to 1980, and then worked as a librarian at Midland University from 1980 until 1995. Through those years, she brought care, knowledge, and quiet dedication to her work, helping others through her love of books and learning.
Marjorie was a woman whose priorities were clear: family came first. She was known as a willing volunteer, especially in her church communities, and her faith was an enduring part of her life. She attended Elim Lutheran Church in Swaburg, Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, Nebraska, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont, Nebraska. In her personal time, she enjoyed reading, walking, following Nebraska sports and her grandchildren’s sports, and researching family genealogy. These interests reflected both her active mind and the joy she found in staying connected to the people and places she loved.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Pride of Indianapolis, Indiana; her son, Robert (Peggy) Davis of Lincoln, Nebraska; her granddaughters, Elizabeth (James) Knight of Indianapolis, Lindsey (Christopher) Bramell of Indianapolis, and Erin Davis of Lincoln, Nebraska; her sister, Mable Nelson of Sidney, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews. Her family was the center of her life, and she took great pride in each of them, treasuring the time, memories, and lasting bonds they shared.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert L. Davis; her parents, Harry and Helen (Koehler) Larson; her infant son; her brothers Harry, Richard, and Gerald Larson, her sister Mary Johnson, and son-in-law John Pride.
Marjorie Mae Davis will be remembered for her steady kindness, her service, her love of books, and the deep care she gave to her family. Her life was one of faith, purpose, and enduring love, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont, NE, with internment at Craig, NE.
