Marilyn Sue Conger Branham

Marilyn Sue (O’Connor) Conger Branham, known lovingly to many as Susie, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side on September 12, 2026. She leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, family, friendship, and countless memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Marilyn Sue was a proud graduate of Shortridge High School, where she graduated in 1956. During her school years she was a drum majorette and, as a junior, served as a vice president of her class. Following graduation, Susie attended Purdue University for two years before marrying John Thomas Conger. Together they had 3 children. She was a devoted and selfless mother, who always put her family first. She was especially close to John’s parents, Tom and Emily Conger, and treasured the countless summers spent visiting with them. Some of the most wonderful memories were the holidays and family gatherings shared with the Congers, the Youngs, and the Sipp family. These special times created cherished memories that remained close to Susie’s heart throughout her life.

Marilyn Sue had a wonderful love for life and especially enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors. She loved fishing and traveling with her husband, Bob Branham, and together they purchased a home on Lake Webster, where they spent many happy years enjoying the lake next door to her youngest daughter and her four grandchildren fishing, turtle hunting, and making memories together.

Her love of the lakes began many years earlier. In 1965 her parents, Paul and Josephine O’Connor, purchased a lake home on Lake Wawasee, where Marilyn Sue and her late beloved sister Jane Ann, spent their summers with their parents.

Years later they would continue to spend the summers at the Wawasee lake house with her three children and her sister, Jane, and three her children. Those summers became treasured memories that remained a special part of Susie’s life.

Above all else, Susie was a devoted and selfless grandmother. She cherished her three children and adored her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She spent countless days and hours with each of them, taking genuine joy in being a part of their lives.

Her grandchildren knew how much she loved them, and she treasured every moment she was able to spend with them. They loved her famous silver dollar pancakes which she would make every morning she was with them. Marilyn Sue had an amazing, outgoing personality and a warmth that made people feel welcome. She had a way of bringing joy to those around her, and her presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Marilyn Sue (O’Connor) Conger Branham leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The memories she created, the love and time she gave, and the lives she touched will remain with her family forever.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered and forever cherished.
