Margaret Dorothy Rezentes

Margaret Dorothy Rezentes, 94, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026. She was born on December 13, 1931, in Kohala, Hawaii, and carried the warmth and spirit of the Big Island with her wherever life took her — first to California, where she spent much of her life, and later to Indiana where she lived her final years. Margaret was endlessly giving of her time and energy, always showing up for the people around her. She was a lifelong learner with endless curiosity, a talented quilter, and a devoted caretaker of her plants. She loved playing her ukulele, playing games with her family, and being part of community events.

Beautiful inside and out, she was sharp and thoughtful - the quiet brains of the family. Her generous heart made her a legend to her family, and her love, humor, and spirit will live on in the generations she leaves behind. She now rests peacefully, welcomed home with open arms by her husband Gilbert Cabral and granddaughter, Brenda.

Margaret is lovingly remembered and survived by her three children, Gilbert Paul, Renee, and Cheryl; her five grandchildren, Lalenna (Tony), Katherine (Roberto), Karen, Ray (Dana), and Tommy (Brandy); her fourteen great-grandchildren, Krishna, Nathan, Shaylene, Joseph, Ethan, Anthony, Dareon, Austin, Morgan, Seth, Peyton, Amaria, Baylee, and Dexter; her nine great-great-grandchildren, Penelope, Jackson, Dallas, Roman, Aspen, Nevaeh, Jazz, Soren, and Clover; and her five siblings, Thelma (Richard), Evelyn (Jessie), Wilford, Danny, and James.
