Margaret Ruth Perdue

Margaret Ruth (Correll) Perdue February 8, 1929 – December 15, 2025 Margaret Ruth Perdue, age 96, of Pendleton, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 15, 2025.

 Born on February 8, 1929, in Thompson Township, Fulton County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Ross and Della Correll. She was raised on a farm, where she developed a lifelong love of the outdoors and especially enjoyed working with horses.

 Margaret graduated from Hancock High School in Hancock, Maryland, in 1945. In 1946, she completed the Library Bureau Complete Course in Indexing and Filing, successfully passing the required tests for speed and accuracy, and earned a Bachelor of Secretarial Science degree from Hagerstown Business College.

 On October 15, 1950, she married Charles Bertie Perdue. Together they shared more than 60 years of marriage. Margaret worked for several years as a bookkeeper for Wallop & Sons Insurance Company in Washington, D.C. During their retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with their travel trailer and also took the occasional cruise.

 Margaret was a devoted Christian and a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Throughout her life, she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher and worked in children’s ministries at the churches she attended. Prior to moving to Indiana, she was an active member of Northcliffe Church in Spring Hill, Florida, where she cherished her friendships in the King’s Daughters Sunday School class.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bertie Perdue; her son, Kevin Charles Perdue; and her sisters, Hope C. Mellott and Betty C. Munson.

 She is survived by her son, Robin Kim Perdue (Mary Anne) of Pendleton, Indiana; her stepdaughter, Patricia Ann Tucker of Arizona; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

 Margaret will be interred beside her husband in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.

 A private family memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northcliffe Church, 10515 Northcliffe Boulevard, Spring Hill, Florida 34608.
