Margaret M. “Peggy” Sparks, 85, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Peggy was born on January 14, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Eddie and Mary Jo Neal. She lived a life centered around family, faith, hard work, and love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Sparks, her parents Eddie and Mary Jo, and her two brothers Chris Neal and Jim Neal.
Peggy is survived by her loving children, Kelly Bertram and Gary Oliver, her step-daughter Christie Facker and her step-son Tommy Sparks, and 10 grandchildren: Christopher Oliver, Brian Werden, Erika Oliver, Stephanie Morgan, Katie Jones, Cheyanne Bertram, Andrew Oliver, Noah Oliver, Levi Bertram, Ryan Bertram, many great-grandchildren, and her faithful companions, Crystal, Cooper, and Junior. She also shared a special bond with her daughter-in-law, Andrea Oliver, who played an important role in Peggy’s life and brought her much love, care, and companionship over the years.
Peggy retired after nearly 40 years with Lucent Technologies in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was known for her dedication and strong work ethic throughout her career.
Peggy loved traveling with John, collecting beautiful things and decorating her log home, and spending time with the family she treasured deeply. She also had a tremendous love for animals and cared for many throughout her life. Her gentle heart and caring nature will be remembered by all who knew her.
A faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenfield, Indiana, Peggy’s faith remained an important part of her life.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, with Mass immediately following. Burial will take place afterward at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, Indiana.
Peggy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
