Marcus Traas, born on January 28, 2004, left this world far too soon on October 17, 2025, at the age of 21. He was a remarkable individual, known for his big heart and unwavering support for those around him.
Marcus possessed a wide array of talents and had a profound passion for history. His enthusiasm for learning was particularly evident in his admiration for figures such as Desmond Doss and Louis Zamperini. He often quoted Zamperini's inspiring words: "A moment of pain is worth a lifetime of glory" and approached life with the mantra of living one mile at a time.
He was also fascinated by mechanics and harbored dreams of opening his own auto repair shop, reflecting his desire to turn his passion into a profession. Recently, he had embarked on his journey into the HVAC field, taking classes in hopes of earning his journeyman's card. His strong work ethic and eagerness to learn were traits that all who knew him admired.
Marcus was a member of The Creek Christian Church, where he found a supportive community. To his family and friends, he was a source of joy and inspiration. His loss has left an immense void in their lives, and he will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his mother, Christine Holder; fathers, Ty Holder and David Traas; girlfriend, Megan Rutledge; brothers, Brian Traas, Brandon Traas, Damian Traas, Donovan Holder, and Joe Holder; sisters, Shayla Palmer and Saizha Holder; nieces, Serenity, Raelyn, and Azalea; nephew, Xander; grandparents, Darwin Raup and Debbie Watkins; great-grandmother, Roberta Raup; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
