Marcia Lynn Glasscock Hancock Hart, age 74, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, with her son, Aaron Hancock, and his wife, Melissa, by her side.
Marcia was born in Indianapolis on October 10, 1950, to Merle and Marian Glasscock. She grew up alongside her beloved sister, Janice Glasscock. All preceded her in death.
A lifelong lover of the arts, Marcia was best known for her passion and dedication to ballet. She studied and performed with grace and determination, later sharing her gift as a teaching assistant at Jordan Academy of Dance through Butler University. In the early 1970s, she operated her own home dance studio, where she taught private lessons to budding ballerinas—and proudly shared that her son Aaron could perform a perfect pirouette at just two years old.
Her love of dance took her far beyond her hometown. In the summer of 1975, Marcia studied ballet in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she also learned to speak Spanish and developed a deep appreciation for Latino culture and Mexican pottery. Over the years, she served as President and Founding Member of Dance In Progress, Artistic Director of Dancin’ Unlimited, and private ballet coach and choreographer at the Carmel Ice Skating Rink.
Marcia’s professional path extended beyond dance as well. She worked in real estate and title services, spent time at Helios Gift and Tea Room alongside her dear friend Kathy, and found great joy in providing in-home daycare for her grandsons Jackson, Keaton and their cousins Hunter and Madeline. Later in life, she devoted herself to senior home care, discovering yet another way to share her compassion with others.
Faith was at the heart of Marcia’s life. A devout Christian, she welcomed all with warmth and kindness, making everyone she met feel loved and accepted. She also loved to travel, visiting Florida, the Hawaiian Islands, Australia, Europe, Mexico, and many Caribbean islands, always treasuring the experiences and connections she made along the way.
Of all her accomplishments, Marcia was most proud of her family. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her only child, Aaron. She treasured every moment of watching him grow, from the football field to the baseball diamond, and she always considered him her everything. She was endlessly proud of the man, husband, and father he became—attributes she knew were rooted in the values and love she instilled.
Marcia’s legacy lives on in her son, Aaron Matthew Hancock, daughter-in-law, Melissa Kaye Hancock; her grandchildren, Jackson Ryan Hancock, Keaton David Hancock, and Ashton
Matthew Hancock; and the countless lives she touched through her love, grace, and devotion.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at The Gathering House (1372 Cherry Street, Noblesville, IN 46060) from 3:00–5:00 p.m., with a special remembrance at 5:00 p.m. More information is available at thghnoblesville.com.
