Love letter to granny

To Our Dearest Mom, Mother, Granny, Aunt Maggie,

As we gather to celebrate your remarkable life and lay you to rest, our hearts are heavy with grief but overflowing with love and gratitude for the incredible woman you were. You left us on October 31, 2025, in the quiet comfort of the Indiana autumn, on a beautiful autumn day where the leaves were vibrant with the change of season and the sun was kissing our skins, bringing a warmth that you would have bestowed upon us. Your legacy is truly a testament to a life well-lived and enjoyed. Through the hills and valleys you remained steadfast in your faith and love.

You were the matriarch of an incredible family. Out of your eleven children, three preceded you in death, and we know they were waiting with open arms. The tribe you leave behind—grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren—stands as a living tribute to the love you poured into this world.

Your generosity knew no bounds. You may not have had a lot in terms of worldly possessions, but you opened your arms and your home to everyone who needed a place to feel welcome. Your heart was always open, and your embrace a sanctuary. You were "Mom," "Mother," "Granny," "Aunt Maggie", and “Mother Taylor”, not just to your own kin, but to all who were fortunate enough to cross your path.

You were a woman of incredible spirit, full of sass, joy, and laughter that was absolutely contagious. You brightened every room you entered with your chuckle and famous eye roles. Yet, we always knew where we stood with you, because you were never afraid to call a spade a spade. Granny you coined the infamous endearment “Bucket head”, showing affection as only you could. Granny your acceptance of all, your honesty, combined with your loving heart, is one of the many things we admired most about you.

You taught us the true meaning of family, unconditional love, and compassion. Your strength, resilience, and unwavering faith have shaped us all. The lessons you imprinted on our souls will continue to guide us for generations to come.

Though you have transitioned to heaven, your spirit remains vibrant in every leaf that falls, every warm hug shared, and every act of love and moment of shared laughter we extend to others. We are better people because you loved us.

On this day we honor you. Thank you for your endless love, your selfless nature, and the beautiful memories we will cherish forever. You are deeply missed, but we know that “Joy comes in the morning!”

With all our love, today and always,

Your Loving Family
