Listen to Obituary

Lynne Watson, 77, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer that spanned more than ten years.

Born on March 15, 1949, in Plymouth, Indiana, Lynne was the daughter of Paul Eugene Watson and Betty Ruth Watson. She dedicated much of her life to education, retiring after a career as a high school Spanish teacher. After retirement, she continued serving her community through part-time work at Global Gifts. She volunteered as a Court Appointed Advocate and at two branches of the Indianapolis Public Library.

Lynne had a passion for learning about the world and sharing her talents with others. She liked to travel, knit, bake, cook, and take on creative sewing projects. Her family looked forward to the holiday cookies she baked each year, and her grandchildren were wrapped in the warmth and love of the afghans Abuelita lovingly knitted for them.

Above all else, Lynne cherished her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than being a mother and grandmother. Her love, encouragement, generosity, and devotion will remain with those who knew her and loved her.

Lynne is survived by her son, Esteban Chiriboga; daughter-in-law, Carla; and grandchildren, Liam and Sophie. She is also survived by her daughter, Adriana Tebbe; son-in-law, Ben; and granddaughter, Amelia. She is further survived by her brother, Steve Watson; sister-in-law, Maria Elena; nieces Kirsten, Shannen, and Amber; and nephew Erek.

Lynne's memory will live on through the lives she touched as a teacher, volunteer, friend, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be deeply missed and loved forever.
