Lucy Marie Williams, 91, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on July 23, 1934, in Harlem, New York. She lived a full and vibrant life marked by compassion, humor, and a deep love for her family and friends.
Lucy was the beloved daughter of Henry and Henrietta Wiggins. Her siblings were John Wiggins, Gloria Kelly, and Marian Talley. From an early age, Lucy’s life was rooted in faith. She accepted Christ while attending the Church of the Master in Harlem and remained spiritually grounded throughout her life.
She married David Williams with whom she shared many cherished years before his passing. Together they raised their daughter Kim Williams who survives her and carries forward Lucy’s legacy of strength and kindness.
Lucy had a zest for life that was evident in everything she did. She was an avid reader who found joy in stories both on the page and on the screen. A serious movie buff with an encyclopedic knowledge of film, she could always be counted on for a great recommendation or a lively discussion about classic cinema.
Her adventurous spirit took her to destinations far and wide—Bermuda’s pink sands, Alaska’s icy vistas, Hawaii’s lush landscapes, France’s romantic boulevards, and England’s historic charm were among her favorite places to explore. Whether traveling across oceans, enjoying a night out at the casino, or dining at Red Lobster with loved ones, Lucy embraced every experience with enthusiasm.
A dedicated bowler for many decades and a passionate bingo player, Lucy found joy in community activities that brought people together. Her warmth made her a beloved presence wherever she went.
Lucy was known for her kindness and wisdom. She had a generous heart and was always ready to help others when she could. Her sense of humor brightened countless lives; those who knew her often recall how easily she could make them laugh even during difficult times.
She leaves behind her devoted daughter Kim Williams; cherished family members Iona Watson, Deborah Talley, Oscar Talley Jr., Sheila Bartley, Nicole Bartley, Lesley Watson, Kelly Pando, Jennifer Egan, Lara Harvey, and Doris Nelson; as well as loving friends Megan, Sylvia, Tonya—and many others who cared for her and loved her at Rosegate.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband David Williams, her parents Henry and Henrietta Wiggins, her brother John Wiggins, and sisters Gloria Kelly and Marian Talley.
Her memory will live on through all those whose lives she touched with her compassion, grace, and humor.
