Lovell Clark Dutton, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, peacefully departed this life on February 13, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on December 29, 1942, in Jamestown, Kentucky, Lovell lived a life filled with love, dedication, and pride in his work and family.
A committed craftsman, Lovell worked at Shuron Continental where he created eyeglass lenses, showcasing his meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship.In 1968 Lovell proudly joined the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Union Local #3 dedicating 58 years to the union and contributing to the building trades with unwavering determination. Lovell was also a member of the Midwest Divers Scuba Club, indulging his adventurous spirit and love for underwater exploration.
Lovell’s passions extended far beyond his career. He loved God, country, and family with fervent devotion. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the lights of his life, and he relished every moment spent with them, creating treasured memories that would last for generations. An avid fisherman, Lovell found joy in the serenity of the water. He had a deep appreciation for diverse forms of transportation, he was also a jack of all trades. His interest in music spanned genres, reflecting his vibrant personality and zest for life.
Lovell is survived by his beloved daughter, Carol Bragdon (Bill); his grandchildren, Mike Bragdon (Amy), Danielle McKenney (James), Jeff Bragdon (Kathryn), Sarah Herd (Connor), Aaron Bragdon (Madison), and Alison Rowe (Seth); and 22 great-grandchildren who knew him as a guiding force of love and laughter. He is also remembered fondly by a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Carolyn (Rowell) Dutton, and his son, Clark Dutton, both of whom he loved deeply and missed dearly.
A visitation to honor Lovell's life will be held on February 27, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 PM at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46143.
Lovell Clark Dutton leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and service that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends as they carry on his memory.
