Louvel Chantel Montague, a beloved homemaker and cherished family member, passed away peacefully at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana, on November 19, 2025. She was surrounded by the love of her husband, Ronald David Montague, in her final moments.
Born on October 13, 1963, in Slidell, Louisiana, Louvel lived a life marked by devotion to her family and a passion for creativity. She was an avid fan of reality television and found joy in creating art, particularly canvas pictures, as well as engaging in crafts such as Hook and Ladder. Louvel had a profound appreciation for travel, often delighting in the adventure of discovering new places, whether while traveling with family or receiving updates through pictures sent by her loved ones.
Louvel is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald. Together, they raised a loving family, which includes their children: Sharee Rochelle Fields and her husband Shane Ellery Fields; their son Brandon James Montague and his wife Amber Renee Montague; their daughter Hali Cook and her partner Ryan Cook; and their daughter Caitlin Felice Montague and her husband Kalem Daniel Newton. Louvel’s spirit lives on through her 14 grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy: Sadie Boles, Jessalynn Burriss, Gavin Michael Burriss, Veyah Rayne Cook, Brynna Fields, Carly Fields, Ezra Montague, Isaiah Montague, Evelyn Montague, Jasper Marino, Atticus Newton, and Jonah Montague.
The family will hold visitation on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service commencing at 6:00 PM. Both events will take place at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46143.
Louvel's warmth and creativity will be deeply missed by all who knew her and will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind.
